1 sachet of beef casserole mix
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 onions diced
3 carrots sliced
450g lean diced braising steak
425ml cold water

 

 

Cooking instructions: Oven

Before cooking: Preheat the oven to 180°C, 160°C fan assisted, Gas Mark 4. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a frying pan. During cooking: Fry the braising steak and the diced onions for 7-8 minutes over a high heat until browned. Place the steak, onions and carrots in an ovenproof casserole dish. Mix contents of sachet mix with 425ml cold water and pour over the steak and vegetables. Cover and cook in the oven for 1 hour 45 minutes or until the steak is tender. After cooking: Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only. Recipe Suggestions: For a vegan recipe why not replace the beef with a meat free alternative or aubergine and lentils.
